An engineer's approach to applied AI.

I'm Chris Chatzicharalampous, Dr.-Ing. I build applied-AI systems — with the discipline of an engineer and the honesty of a scientist.

I trained as a materials engineer at RWTH Aachen. My doctorate was, in plain terms, the science of separation — designing membranes that let exactly the right things through, under heat and pressure, and proving precisely how well they did it. In the laboratory, a result you couldn't reproduce didn't count, and a tenth of a percent of drift meant starting over. That standard never left me.

I then spent a decade close to the people who use technology, not only the people who build it — enterprise localization at Transifex, pharmaceutical analytics at Cube RM, maritime computer vision at Orca AI, the systematic testing of AI chatbots at IntegriAI. Underneath, the work was always the same: turning a technical system into an outcome a business could depend on. Applied AI is where the two halves meet — the rigor of the lab, and the habit of building for a real user.

One thread runs through all of it: making sure things are true. In the laboratory it was precision. In fraud investigation, verifying claims and catching what was false. In AI, asking whether a system's answers actually hold up. That habit is now the core of what I build — AI that is measured, not asserted, and honest about what it does not know.

I named the company for Ctesibius of Alexandria, the ancient engineer who built the first machines that truly worked. It is a standard to hold to: intelligence, applied with intention.
